Morning Skate Update

As I said earlier, today’s morning skate was optional. 15 players participated and others used the time to work out off the ice. The players who took part in the on-ice session were:

Goalies
Johan Hedberg
Ondrej Pavelec

Defensemen
Zach Bogosian
Toby Enstrom
Mark Popovic
Christoph Schubert
Anssi Salmela
Boris Valabik

Forwards
Eric Boulton
Evander Kane
Rich Peverley
Marty Reasoner
Jim Slater
Chris Thorburn
Todd White

No line or lineup changes are expected tonight against the Kings aside form in goal where Ondrej Pavelec will get the nod. Some people seem to think there’s a goalie controversy brewing since Hedberg started consecutive games, but everyone is on the same page. With three games in four days Hedberg was bound to play, and he has great career numbers against the Rangers.  John Anderson says a decision on Sunday’s starter hasn’t been made yet. It may depend on tonight’s results. Based on the history between the two teams we could see a high-scoring affair tonight. Last season the Thrashers won 7-6 in a shootout. In 2006-07 the Thrashers won at home in a 6-2 blowout and in 2005-06 the Kings won 8-6 in LA. That’s 35 goals in three games. Hopefully Pavelec is ready for the onslaught.

here is my prediction. Max Afinegenov scores a hat trick. Why? You ask. A&E is showing the Mad Max trilogy tonight. Mad Max Trilogy = hat trick.
    Let’s go Thrashers.

I have a question for everyone who wants to give their opinion.
My wife and i love going to the games
and my wifes best friend has never been to a hockey game
she wants to go to see some fights
so my question is which game could we go see that would produce some good hitting and possibly a few scrums?
any good suggestions would be appreciated.
and preferably a game in which the thrash have a great chance at winning also.
    thanks a bunch

    OL’ TIME HOCKEY!!!!

Seriously, tough to fill both criteria. Fights and a win?
Philly’s usually good for some physicality but we have a tough time beating them. Maybe not so much now that Nitty’s in Tampon Bay.
